Allihies again.. but off to Asia soon....
My pinlock has separated from the visor and is misting up. Any tips on refitting it so that the silicon bead remains in contact with the visor...

Example

Heating
glue
turning the two pins etc...

experience required,

I thought the idea of the pinlocks was that turning the holding pins would either loosen / tighten up the anti-mist visor?

Indeed, but is the bead supposed to be a slightly bit sticky so that it seals. I got my Helmet off of here and the pinlock had been installed and then removed. Is this OK or once removed a new pinlock is needed.

I don't know....

you can remove and refit them, the second time onwards they may not seal aswell, in really heavy rain mine puts one of those wave/calm you down shows as it dont seal as it should, still works up to a point though.

Washing Up Liquid !

Apparently if your seperate the two then put them in a wash bowl full of clean water and a drop of washing up liquid, leave to soak over night then let drip dry and replace. My local HG shop swears by this technique by I must admit i have not tried it !
My Pinlock was the same and i have found that the tweaking the pins have sorted it out (for now !!).

Just tried the cleaning and adjusting, big ride tomorrow (hopefully) so will find out if it works...

All good, removed cleaned in piping hot soapy water, dried and reapplied as well as turning the pins. Yesterday spin to mizzen head with some heavy showers, no problem....
