I used to have a brilliant thing called a "helmet pelmet" It fitted around the helmet,so when you put the helmet on, you had a waterproof sleeve that came down over your jacket collar. Stopped the wind and rain a treat.

I've been trying to think of what it was called and that's it,

Cissbury Leathers seem to do 'em....

At least I hope that's what they are selling :eek

Not the same thing but might sort out the OP's problem...... http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/windjammer/helmet-wind-blocker.htm Though I suspect wicking into his helmet or the vents are open.....

Try this, although it's a bit radical: Tuck your gloves into your sleeve cuffs then get a pair of muffs for added security. :thumb It's worked for me for years.

Was he not taking the mick? Surely no-one tucks their sleeves into their gloves and wonders why water runs into the gloves :blast

After 20 odd years of 80 mile round trip commuting, I eventually settled on the Heine Gerike jacket with the zip on collar thing as this tucked up inside my hat and was held in place with the strap. Only when it really pissed down did enough water start to wick up inside the lining for it to get annoying.

I never had a problem with water running down into the gloves provided the glove cuff was a good fit against the jacket sleeve.

Drying was easy in the old days of CRT computer monitors as putting both gloves and helmet on top of them would always ensure they were dry by the time I had to go home. Unfortunately flat screens and H&S nonsense has eliminated this most valuable function of the PC.

Fortunately though, it really doesn't rain that much and although we do, like now, get occasional periods where it rains for days on end, they are not too common unless you live even further north than Rotherham.

You could always try the pop up oversuit:rolleyes:

Buy a car, they are dry and warm, you can listen to the radio, drink coffee, chat on the phone and eat a mcdonalds all on the move. Much more practical than a bike :thumb2
