Hi all, there are plenty of lanes in my local vicinity and I know plenty of you are regular visitors from further afield. In an attempt to get a little more organised 3 of us that live quite close have decided to have a regular meet to get a few lanes in & allow those less fortunate to join us!

So:-
- Aim is to meet each 2nd Sunday each month

- Venue, meeting time etc will vary so will be posted for each ride

- Although most lanes are "GSable" clearly it depends on rider skill & conditions on the day! There are some quite technical sections around so it'd probably be fair to say that the routes will primarily be aimed at XC & similar

- routes are mainly Hants / Surrey with occasional forays further afield.

- Key to all good plans is flexibility...........The First meet is on the 24th January, details will be posted on this thread soon.

Sounds really good. My resolution this year is to get out off-road at least once a month, so this would fit well with that :thumb

Whoooo ! - I will keep a watch out on this thread, always looking for trails further afield!

Hi Chaps, off road sounds good to me and i live in the south of Hampshire. I will keep an eye out for dates that suit.

PS. will I get my new 800GS dirty.:thumb

pinkytiff, noelrobertson has been offroading with us before.... baptism of fire may spring to mind...:thumb2

Bring on the mud.. oh and i will bring my tow rope...

Fantastic.
Will I need to change my tyres from the standard spec. road/off road tyres :nenau

What tyres you running now? bear in mind have no idea what comes as standard on the gs.

The trails at this time of year will be slippy and muddy in places, although there is alot of trails that can be traversed on the more road baised/ offroad tyres.

It might be an idea that if you want to attend any of the rides that you provide us with.

1. what type of bike.
2. level of experience.
3. what tyres you are running.

This can then enable us to plan a route that will be suitable for the majority of the group or alternativly im sure we could run a big bike group and a pogo group.

24th in diary
1. x challenge
2. did bmw and yamaha training and some basic green laning
3. TKC 80s (but looking for nail tyres...)
Looking forward to it!

The meeting place will be Alton Station car park (Hampshire). We will be leaving the car park at 9am and heading out to the first lane. I have not planned a lunch stop so bring some food and drink with you. If it is very cold I'm sure we will find somewhere on route for a hot drink. The terrain will vary from mud, rock, gravel and chalk so there should be something for everyone. I have not ridden all of the lanes so we may need to be flexible on the day. Some of the lanes will be challenging so be prepared.
We are lucky in Hampshire to still have a reasonable number of lanes open so please remember there will be other users of the lanes to consider.

Hi chaps,

I have an F800GS, grew up outdoors on a bike in Sunny South Africa and have just ordered a set of MT 21's for the next ride.
I hope that this will get me around. I have not ridden off road for around 17 Yrs but I am sure that it is like riding a bike, a few falls in the mud will bring it all back.

I will be sunning myself with my wife in Mexico on the 24th of this month so look forward to meeting you at the next outing.
Cheers, Noel :thumb
