Am I OK to trigger a traditional 12v Relay off the rear light on my 2014 LC. I was going to splice in to the wire and put the relay under the passenger seat.
This CANBUS is all new to me - how sensitive is it? will it throw errors?

I don't really want to use the fuse under the seat due to the delay when you turn off the bike.

I think it will my mate tried to wire an aux led light to the front but it didn't work cant remember the reason but Im sure he said it was because of the canbus

I have successfully done this. I used a 12v relay connected to the rear light. The relay I used was a small relay that took only a very small current to operate. I will check which one I used later on.

Update.
The relay I used had a coil resistance of about 720ohms. This does not have any effect on the canbus on my 2014 LC GS.
Depending on what it is controlling you might have to use the relay to trigger a high power relay.
If I can help any more send post an email ad so I can contact you.
