Remote key not in range

Keep the key in the side opposite the leads.

it's probably more of a case of the heated jacket element acting as a Faraday cage. On a R1250RS the receiver is under your arse so if you have the fob in a chest pocket or underneath the heated vest the signal might not pass through the vest and your body to reach the receiver as the wire mesh blocks it. My jacket has waterproof external pockets on the side which sit over your hip when riding. This means the signal is in range without needing to pass through me and the vest.

My Keis jacket has the leads on the left which gave the message if I kept the leads in it. Right pocket no message.

I have the same issue on a R1250Rs . Im having to change the battery quite often , using Varna barreies everytime . I do use a heated jacket at the moment . I wonder if that’s interfering with the signal ?
I tried Varta batteries in my R1250GS fob (purchased from Amazon) and they only lasted a few weeks just like the Duracell's from Amazon were - I then decided to ensure I got genuine Varta by buying them in a supermarket whilst in Germany and they lasted over 12 months......

Just ridden today with no heated jacket , and no issues 🤦‍♂️
Dam the issue has returned . Battery has gone dead within a week. Maybe it’s time to try a different battery .

If that fails it’ll probably be a new fob . They’re not cheap

It’s not your remote, the battery’s have coatings on them which makes the remote thinks it’s low, take a little sandpaper to the edges and the bottom and it should last a lot longer, I use my gs everyday and the remote battery tells me at least once a week that it’s low or critical. Then then later that day it’s fine.
