Remove hand guards for hot climate?

On the way back from Garmisch we encountered 41 degrees 
I doubt that removing the hand guards would have made much difference to that fact that it was difficult to breath

Rode from Chamonix to Memmingen on Sunday.......it was between 35 and 40 degrees all the way up. The next trip I take to a hot climate I will be removing the hand guards and probably getting some sort of a short screen.

Why not just push them down out of the way? Then you can easily pull them back up if needed?

Sure did mate, 341 days til the 2016 Oviedo repeat trip. seriously considering heading out a few days early
. Looking forward to hanging on to your rear wheel again down those Picos hairpins. The only question is: do I stick to the surprisingly spritely GSA or bite the bullet and buy one of the last of the K1300S's?
Don't try one unless you are prepared to buy one. You won't have those huge panniers to carry all your clobber in of course.
