Is it wise and easy to remove like on the TC Hex? If so, just remove the valve and cables? Any fault codes occur?

It will show a fault code on the dealers computer but that is it !

No. I know about the Hexhead - I did the same. I am asking about the WC - hence why posted in "1200 GS Watercooled"

Ah, must read more carefully, soz.
I don't have a water cooled model but have read about owners having to replace the downpipes when the valve siezes up as it is built into the downpipes and not a separate part like the hex heads.
Nothing to stop you disconnecting it though.

no issues on dash.. like redrick says it shows up on dealers diagnostics until they reset it

On LC it shows on diagnostic equipment, they can reset but it will stay as a fault.
Doesn't show on dash or cause any problems.
This will be different on the later emissions models coming out for 2017
