As in the thread title - How?

First screw.... I sheared the T30 torx bit:mad:

I guess that they have threadlock on the threads.

Any suggestions welcomed.

Thanks

Hot air gun on the studs first, get them good and hot, without stripping the paint of course. The disc material overhanging the mounting point tends to shield the alloy to some extent but be careful. I found it best to get two or three heating at once so that the heat has time to 'soak' into the stud.

I sheared one the first time I tried it and had to grind some flats onto the side of the stud to allow a spanner to fit. Tricky, but if you aren't using the disc again it's easy enough to do

refitting- clean the threads out with a thread tap first.

Get a can of Plusgas. Apply and leave to soak in preferably overnight. It's amazing stuff for seized bolts and studs and saves so much hassle.

No, the bolts are not seized, the blue thread lock is doing what was intended.

It takes a lot of heat to soften the thread lock, heat the alloy rotor mounting points from behind, don't heat the rotor bolt heads directly.

It takes 2-3 minutes to get enough heat into each mount, and treat yourself to a nice new 1/2 drive T40 torx bit, so that you can get plenty of purchase on the rotor bolts.

Thread lock, Arrrrrgh, evil stuff.

Not when your disc falls off. :o

Take care to use the correct torx bit. Quite often the size smaller will seem to fit. After damaging a bolt head I now always check for go-no go before using

Good advice regarding Torx Bit size. Disc falls off ? very unlikely.
