Removing Mirrors on a 2011RT

I am trying to fit a Wunderlich Sat Nav mount to my 2011 RT and the first thing I need to do is remove the mirror glass so I can get the cockpit fairing off, sounds simple and should be but I cannot get the mirrors out.

I know there is supposed to be some kind of set screw that holds the mirrors in place and that I get to it through the hole under the mirror frame but I am stuck. I cannot tell what type of head is on the screw, assuming I can find it, or get anywhere with removing it. Does anybody know what this set screw is and what the trick is to getting it undone?

There is certainly a torx socket screw accessed through a hole on the underside of the mirror mount, not sure of the size-- T25 apparently. Undo it a bit and then you can pull off the mirror and it's backing piece. You CAN pull off the mirror without undoing the screw..... but don't.... trust me on this.
Once the mirror is off, you will see the 2 screws which allow you to dismantle it further. I seem to remember they also release the indicator housing.

Just drop the bike at barely moving speed

and all will become clear.
They pop out and back in for easy for replacement.
Held in by 3 rubbers over the balls shown in diagram.
Be sure to lick the rubbers before putting back in or they will not seat properly.
May be different on later bikes

NO NO NO DON'T do that. If yours is a twin cam model you need to release the screw as above. If it's the pre- 2010 model before they changes the shape slightly then Myke is (probably) right.

Thanks for the feedback everybody, I think the fact it is held by a Torx screw is the bit I was needing to know.

I have a manual on order but for some reason there is a delay getting delivery and I want to get the job done before the weekend as I have a long ride planned and don't know the route !
