I’ve just removed the original mount from my RS12 as I’m moving to XT.

I’d studied online info to remove the key barrel and was half way to filing down a locksmith tumbler key tool when I found that I only had to remove the small black cover from the rear of the mount then simply spring the locking wafer with a pointy stick and the barrel assembly popped out. Happy bunny.

I don’t need to match a key.

I wanted the barrel out for when I sell the cradle. I won’t need it any more.

After a couple of U toob clips I now understand how one should match wafers to your key.

Now I know my own key wafer arrangement, 1 to 6, skip 7, lock wafer 8.

Exchange the words ‘you’, ‘buy’ and ‘your’ for: ‘a new owner’, ‘buys’ and ‘their’ :D
