Remus - dissapointed.

i had a remus Rev Ti silencer fitted last week (just the can - not the 2 in to 1). Compared to the one I had on my 1150 it's positively quiet.

So - who's got one and removed the baffle?

Does it sound any better? Not to loud?
How do you remove it?

It does look great though!

look undernieth the end pipe you will see a rivet ...drill it out and the baffle will just pull out you can drill the baffle full of holes the more holes the more noise with added appeal of looking legal and replace with another rivet you should get a small allan bolt with the exhaust to secure the baffle back in place after drilling its well load without te baffle ..hope this helps

if you take the baffle out, beware coz the gas can melt the indicator and the number plate. the fix is to fit a pipe extention avaible on Nippy Normans site, and to fit some heat resistant padding to the back of the number plate.

I am on my third number plate and similar number of lenses.

The extra power/sound is great.

Get the bloody baffle out, its criminal to leave it in. Sounds reet nice sans baffle.

Don't be scared about melting bits and bobs - if you don't do the downpipes (i.e. remove the cat) you will have no problems. 10k on my 12GS says so.

You don't need to do that anymore.....the legality is down to the Db output now, not the stamps on the can.

I don't think that's true. There's no requirement for a stamp on the can for a bike to pass an MOT now. Pass or fail is down to the sound level which shouldn't be more than a standard can in good condition. However, I believe that Constructions and Use Regulations still require exhaust cans to carry the appropriate stamp.

...yes. Use a small bit initially, one that easily sits in the centre of the rivet. Drill through until you feel it go through. Then use larger and larger bits until the remainder of the rivet falls out. Don't just use a huge bit initially, as you'll destroy the threads that allow you to bolt the baffle back in. I think you'll end up using a 5mm bit to get it out.
