Remus Exhaust Can Failure

Hi, just got back from holiday - after removing the panniers after blatting up the motorway I noticed that the exhaust can has blown itself to bits - it was fine this morning (see pics)...............Anyone come across this before? It's not something I'd expect from Remus. Seems to be related to the mount point perhaps.....strange.
Can't say I'm happy with this................

How long's the can been on?

Looks like it didn't want to be fixed to that bracket. I have one the same, so I'd be interested to see what you find out.

Hi Craig, thats a bummer, just got a remus can & headers of ebay & going to fit them, so interested to hear what caused your can to collapse.

Hi Craig. I've got the same can and exactly the same problem except that I spotted it when it just started to tear. Performance Parts Ltd are the UK importer for Remus and there is a 2 year warranty on them IF YOU STILL HAVE YOUR RECEIPT.
I have lost my receipt and they wouldn't do anything for me which I thought was very poor customer service. They were looking for £120 for a new titanium sleeve so I haven't done anything with it yet.

mine did this - think it's a common problem - they replaced the can under warranty as it was less than 2 years old.

What is wrong with a standard saucepipe?

Try a standard saucepipe. Failure of this nature is unlikely, and, as a bonus, it does not annoy the general public.
