My 1200 had a Remus fitted when bought from the dealer about 14 months ago. I have just taken it off to give the bike and the exhaust a good clean!!

Sad but true, shiny bikes go much better!!

I am not sure whether there is something missing where the hanger bracket bolts to the bike frame?? The bolt hole on the exhaust hanger has a rubber bush, with a metal sleeve, which the bolt goes through. The rubber does not protrude at either end of the hanger, with the effect that when the bolt is tightened up, the connection is simply metal to metal and the rubber bush serves no purpose??

Hence my question, is something missing?

I can't quite remember the details of the bush, but make sure you put some copperslip on the bolt. I ended up stripping the threads off the last bolt (aly bolt, steel threads). Fair play to Remus they sent me a new bolt through the post FOC :)

Thanks GSmonkey, will do!

I have read in here that some 1150 owners have done away with the silencer. there is no way you could ride the 1200 on the road without one.....why is the 1200 so much noisier anyway?

AFAIK the bush you mention is to absorb any movement fore & aft of the exhaust, just a little mind, rather than having it bolted hard to the bike with no "give"
You should just have the original exhaust bolt with a wide head, a metal sleeve & the rubber bush :thumb2 so sounds to me you`ve got all the bits :D
