Hi,
dont have the gs long but would rather more of a bark out of the exhaust
been offered a s/steel slip on Remus Powercone second hand so wondering
are they much louder than stock
is it a tinny or deep sound
much popping and banging
will they work with varios on a 05
what pipe would people recomend over it
thanks
J

Cant comment if the power cone will fit with the panniers but I fitted a Remus exhaust not the power cone but the normal one, anyways bike ran like a bag of shite, haunting real bad on steady throttle with the baffle out and not much louder than std with the baffle in, albeit no haunting  so I sold it and got the Akra headers and used the std end can, wow what a difference in power and nice deep sound, save your money and buy the cat free headers, and if your feeling flush go for the full Remus system and an accelerator module :beerjug:

hope this helps

I have a remus pipe on my o4 gs and can honestly say it has a great note out of it.It does do a bit of popping and farting when backing off the throttle but i like that. my bike aslo runs really well with it fitted.

I have remus headers + BMW akra titanium can (w/out le baffle).....sounds awesome, especially with the QS fitted :green gri

Just to point out, swapping the end can makes no difference to performance on these bikes - you get more by removing the cat. Either by operating on the standard headers or by replacing them.

is there much involved in removing the cat?

There are a few choices of replacement header pipes, none of which contain a cat. Remus etc. If you do a search on here you'll see loads of threads.

You can also cut open the standard pipe and remove the matrix then weld it up again.

I think you can get a full titanium system too if you are loaded :thumb

Once done you should consider getting a plug-in accelerator module (about £35) or a remap. Again lots of info on here about this if you do a search.

On an 05 the pipe will give you a small increase in sound but the headers will make it much louder. Do them both and it's too noisy for some. The popping and farting is caused by replacing the headers rather than the pipe in my experience. Some like it I found it annoying. If you want a slightly louder noise a pipe should work and no backfiring. As said above this will make no difference to performance.

Headers will improve performance providing you are ok with the extra noise.

I;m afraid titaniums out Grizzly
sounds like the way to go,i think ill cut out the matrix and gut the original pipe

Iv just done mine last week makes a good difference also added a accelerator module it's runs so much better now keeping with original can loud pipes are ok but even with ear plugs the drone can still be annoying on long runs also attracts police attention !

Then again Iv just brought an XT600 supermoto but that's for buzzing round local no baffle sounds :thumb
