Just fitted an alloy Remus end can, but whatever I do there is slight play between the can and the bracket. I noticed this when polishing the alloy (I'm that sort of person!), although it seems alright with the engine ticking over (not ridden it yet). Do they all do that sir and am I paranoid, or have I made a basic fitting error?

Thanks for any replies

....Between the can and the bracket? Nope, should be tight. Two short-ish cap-head screws secure the can to the bracket - they should be tight and no movement possible.

Had a good look at it and all the bolts are tight, When I polished the end of the pipe at the back, I got a rattling noise that seemed to come from the bracket. On closer investigation, it may be coming from inside the can. I bought the Remus Revolution second hand and an earlier owner has run the can with the baffles out. Could this be the source of the problem?

Tried it! Not the baffles but I'm baffled!

I've got Remus Revolution fitted to Remus 'Y' piece and it's all very solidly mounted. Have you put the aluminium sleeve from the standard can thro' the centre of the rubber bush?

No. Could be on to something here. Bought the can second hand with no fitting instructions. It looked simole enough but that is the kind of gaff you can make.

Thanks Mike

Thanks Mike, that was the problem. So simple but I'd would never have thought of it. If we ever meet, we are quite local, I owe you a pint!

Thanks again

Aha! You said that the free play was between the can and the bracket, not the bracket and the frame!! Had us all looking in the wrong place!:D

Sorry for any confusion Littleredrooster but without the bush the bracket seemed to vibrate against the can. Happy now.
