I bought a secondhand set of Remus headers for my 12 and I'm really happy with them in conjunction with the Accelerator module and the Akrapovic can. From a "Seat of the Pants" feel, the bike is running sweetly and better on low speed pick up and drive. The only issue I have is the colour they have gone. The RH side (yes, the dreaded right hand pot side) has gone a nice shade of purple, whereas the left side is a golden brown.
The purple colour is most prominent on a straight line where the exhaust gases come out so I'm thinking one side is running hotter than the other. I don't mind either colour in the slightest, but looking at the bike head on its quite disconcerting - well it is for this owner anyway. The OEM exhaust ran the same colour on both (blueish/gold/brown), but that had a balance pipe and a cat which may or may not make a difference.
When I switched the headers over I was careful not to damage the Lambda sensors, but if I had, would it simply fail or give an incorrect reading back to the ECU? Or could it simply be subtle differences in the pipe's thickness?
Any ideas or anyone else who bought Remus headers new have the same?
Cheers for any enlightenment.
