Did a search but didnt find the info I need. When removing the old headers do you undo the clamp around the Cat 2 small bolts and then does that rubber mount come away? Do you have to remove the sump gaurd to give more room? I have the Akro pipe but it seems the Headers do a lot of the resticting .Anyone done a step by step tecky bit? Got mine from Nippy normans but no instructions,it was easy on the GS1150 ,Had a look yesterday but the rear support troubled me:nenau Ta Chaps

Extract from manual

Hope this helps:

I've got remus headers. From (fading) memory you need to undo the clamp bolts around the cat in order to allow the BMW headers/cat to unbolt and slide forward to get them off the bike. The rubber bush and the clamp comes away leaving the inner mounting pin on the bike. Can't remember if the bash-plate needs to come off but given that it's only takes a couple of mins to remove it, it's not worth leaving on. Fitting the new headers is easy, especially if you put a dollop of washing-up liquid on the rubber bush to let the pin slide in easily. Headers make a healthy difference even with stock can which is supposedly not that restrictive anyway.

Once you get stuck into the swap it all becomes obvious and is very straightforward.

Good luck and enjoy the extra horses.
