Just received a pipe above from fellow GSER and was wondering if any members had experience of removing the baffle. Seems a simple rivet removal but if too noisy has anyone reversed the situation and what did they use. Any comments on noise, power, fuel changes would be great.:aidan

Just drill the rivet and tug - hey presto :aidan

I never bothered to put it back in as I like the noise. In fact i dont even know where the baffle is now :augie

No refuelling probs etc. - if you've ditched the cat too then you should notice a good improvement.

Hope this helps. :thumb

Drilling the rivet out reveals a tapped hole, so if you want to put the baffle back in - bingo, easy-peasy.

For a 2004 1200GS does this make any difference?

As above please answer before i get the drill and bits out its a dry night here for a burn!!!!!!!!!! thanks

Done and done thank you

Thnks for all your help rivet now drilled out and pipe on nice fruity note not too loud at speed but nice at the lights. seems just as smooth.:beerjug:

Just drilled out mine today and went for a blast. Quite a difference! Whole engine feels more supple. Not really much louder cruising under 70 either, but a far, far nicer note.

Cas :)

took mine out with straight pipe no cat
wife went mad said i was trying to make her deaf noisy at speed
this didnt bother me but the copper did when he stopped me one day bright and fair:mad:
