Hi guys i know this has been done to death, but iv spent f..king hours looking at the threads and cant find what im looking for,so at the risk of being called a blind w..nker can anyone give me words of wisdom iv fitted a remus end can, im leaving the standard cat on so does that mean il have no probs with fueling ie running lean im no techno but im assuming all work with the gasses is done in the cat and with the lambda sensor in place things should be ok.Many thanks for info guys........

Yo Cherokee

Ya Blind Git! That Make ya feel Better now?

Anyway it's easy 1150's are controlled by the lamda probe off idle the lamda doen't come into play till it's up to temp and off tickover

Basically if you fit a Y piece All you'll need to do is adjust the airscrews to set the idle speed as it will rise

If you have the standard cat you're not really getting the advantage that the Y piece gives i.e. less weight and freer flowing gases and IF ridden sensibly more MPG (Who am I trying to Kid In HERE! Sensibly and Tosser don't belong in the same sentance!!!!)

Anyway you're fine as long as you have the Lamda in the exhaust stream and connected

Don't get me started on the 4rsehole green scene

BMW had the K1200RS at incredibly lean Fuel air mixtures and the greenies decided that everyone needed a catalytic convertor! The fuel air ratios had to bereduced by 30% to make sinilar power torque outputs from the same engine when the cat was fitted

So Off topic I know BUT the Dilemma of a lean burning fuel efficient engine

OR a catalyzed more fuel dependant with similar emissions but more of the earth's resources sucked into the construction!! For What?

I know this is a very different scenario... but as per steptoes advice I removed the OE exhaust/cat from my import 1100 and replaced it with a UK spec catless OE. unplugged and binned the lead that ran from the loom to the sensor.

Bike is technically running in 'limp mode' but the reality is... its running better than ever. plugs a nice beige. and fuel consumption down on how it was before.

I'm well pleased.

my advice fwiw... get rid of the cat!!

cheers boys

thanks chaps for your advice and as for the going blind i really will have to stop...mass debating...........
