Renthal Bars & Heated Grips

I've never done my GS, but on other bikes there's always been a locating hole in the bar, mated to a lug on the switchgear.
I can't see the GS being any different... but why don't you just remove the throttle assy and check ?

renthal bars have no holes in them to take your wires,so you would have to drill a hole between your clamps underneath then you would have drill two holes each side to take your heated grip grub screws and they would have to tapped and finally you would need to make some bar end inserts which also need grub screws to holed them in place to take your bar weights and handguard bolts,or you could fit acerbis guards,but I don't think they take your weights!!and a gs without bar weights would be very nasty to ride I think.Andy

Anyone know if the R1200GS is different... ? I can't see any cables coming out of the bars.. Haven't looked too hard, must admit.

I may be totally wrong but didn't Ricardo say there was a problem with heated grips on Renthals??
Something about the metal not trabnsferring or holding heat, but I can't remember if it was that they got too hot or not hot enough??

You could be right, ally bars and all that...
I've got renthal bars on my mountain bike but have not fitted heated grips yet so can't help

Had some cr*p ally bars on my 'Usky, and Oxford heated grips... it did work, but maybe they didn't get as hot as the Beemer ones...
I can for a fact say
They are fine, I have Ricky Bars with Renthal bars and no problems with the heated grips, infact this morning they where very nice at 06.30 on the way to work.

Pahdon my ignorance, Sir... but what does that mean?
I know that Ricky Bars are the pukka stuff that costs a 3rd kidney... and I know that Renthal is a bar manufacturer... but having both... Doesn't that mean that you've got two handlebars...
