I am fed up with a numb back end. Have had Airhawk seat = v . good. Now would like a replacement seat. I think it is a choice between a Corbin or Sargent. Any advice would be really appreciated Mike

Hello Sailor !.
Any connection between your username and your numb back end.:ymca:D

Before i bought a Sargent seat,my back end felt like it had gone 12 rounds with Julian Clary.:eek

Try someone like www.motorcycleseatworks in Bradford who can rebuild your existing seat to your exact specification :thumb2

I was seriously looking at Sargent seats for the same reason. Found out there was a 2-3 month waiting time for one, so one weekend before a trip I decided to experiment and set the front of the seat in the high setting and the rear at the standard setting. Result! no more numb arse since:thumb Don't know why, seems to cradle you better, downside is a gap between tank and seat which looks crap....but what price comfort:beerjug:
Don't know if this has worked for anyone else? I understand the Sargent seat profile is more of a cradle style to assist the comfort factor.

I replaced my standard arse numbing seat with a sargent, totally transformed the time/mileage spent in the saddle.
From ordering to delivery was about 5 weeks, but well worth the wait imo.
I tried the sheep skin option first and it was a little better, but not as good as a new sargent.

I originally ordered my GS12 with the low seat option (pain in the bum after 75 miles), bought a "nearly new" standard from this site (100 miles) and have a Corbin which took simply ages to arrive but works pretty well on all longer journeys. Leather finish not holding up so well, presumably I squirrel and squirm too much??

Sounds like the Sargent may be better then. Thanks for your reply Mike

I used motorcycle seatworks. he charged me £90 for the comfort seat option. After 3 days of short rides something didnt feel right, the seat seemed to collapse?. I took off the cover only to find that he had used cardboard and gaffer tape to 'firm' things up and covered the whole mess with Kapok. No additional foam was used. He is a con artist.
