As we all know the O/E seat is crap on the F800 so who's bought which replacement 'Comfort' seat; good points, bad points?

I have the comfort seat ...largely chosen because I prefer the thought that its still an "OE part" rather than some odd looking third party fitment. One thing you need to bear in mind, is that it is a bit higher and wider than the std seat. This suits me , and I appreciate the better seat to peg distance for a more relaxed leg !

I totally agree with Earwig above though , you can't move around much on it !

Sargent do two different seats for the F800GS...the standard Sargent shape which has a bucket-type affair (similar to the BMW Comfort seat) and the Enduro which is styled long and level. I had the Enduro on my F800 and found it a considerable improvement over stock - I liked to be able to shift back and forwards as needed. :thumb2

Hi

I have had the comfort seat on my F700 (same as the 800/650) and found it to be comfortable "BUT" the steep in the seat is in the wrong place for me and found myself sitting on it which wasn't really on. (should have been 3" further back). I think if you long in the body you sit a bit further back and its this that make the seat uncomfortable (for me)..........and as others have said as well you have little room to move about.

I now have the Sargent Enduro one on, and its a great improvement, its wider than the stock seat, firm padding renowned by Sargent and allows you to move around back and forth so you not physically sat in the same position for hrs upon end.

Sargent Enduro all the way for me. :thumb2

I'm curious, you call it Sargent Enduro , but on their website they only list (i) world performance seat (ii) world sport adventure touring (iii) world sport performance plus

I'm thinking about popping my Comfort seat on eBay and trying one of these....

I have something similar to this http://www.seatconcepts.com/products#!/~/product/id=7268050

It has been very good over last year or so. I like it better than the comfort seat I had, especially as the hump is better placed and smaller, plus the fuel filler cap doesn't catch on it like it does on the comfort seat.

Ready for the trade in of my bike put the original seat back on and it is horrid.

rce , wow thats cheap ! I have on (old) std seat , so might give that a go. Like others I ring the BMW comfort seat does the job for long rides, but I'd love to be able to move my butt around the seat too!

You will probably get hit by import duties, I did which makes it not so cheap but it was best alternative I found and has worked well

I bought a Sargent seat straight away (July 2012) and it was brilliant.
Have recently sold it as trading in for 1200GS this month (BMW prefer the original seat on trade-in) and the original seat really is that bad :)

I sent my F650gs seat to Tony Archer. (Just google for details) Got it back this week. Did 220mls today. So much better.
Looks very like the Sergeant with the trim. (Sorry I've not mastered putting on photos yet)
Cost: £80.00 +£15.00 return postage.
Unfortunately seats are not a 1 type fits all. Can be difficult & expensive discovering which one is right for you.

I have a Touratech seat, and it's great. Done 13 hours in one day on it - 828 miles and could still sit at the end of it. Pricey, but very good quality.

Is that the breathable seat? Did you try out the non-breathable version?

I also just swapped from a comfort seat (which I found too low) for the Touratech one and its miles better!!!
