My bike's currently at the dealer having the new push rod, and they are also changing the throttle, as BMW has issued an updated version. They aren't writing to owners, as it's not an official recall, but the next time your bike is at the dealer, the throttle will be replaced.:rob:thumb

Hmm, My post last week on this issue was following letter confirmation by the dealer of the problem...... So apparently it's your dealer simply not making the effort to put pen to paper.

The official line is:

"BMW Motorrad has ascertained that in rare cases the throttle twist grip sends an implausible signal to the engine management system when the throttle valve is closed. The ECU interprets this as a fault and activates an emergency-operation program ('general' warning light shows yellow, engine symbol appears in the display). switching the ignition off and On again restores the engine to full working order."

My 2014 was in for its first service today. Apparently there were no items to change, no notices for customers and no required software updates.

If yours is the 2014 model, it should have the new throttle from the factory.:thumb

Have you noticed any difference, since it was fitted?

why a new push rod nutty? :thumb2

Sometimes under hard acceleration between 3rd and 4th, there would be an almighty crunch. Just got the bike back today, so its early days, but there was no clunk into first, and neutral seemed easier to find.:thumb The new throttle has been fitted, but I can't notice any difference, yet.:blast:rolleyes::D

Thanks Again Nutty man

:thumb2 I will be visiting Dealer soon I reckon then..:thumb2

These new toilets are like Triggers Broom....:D

I found out today that I am also in the 'you need a new throttle sir' club...

Cheers
Jimmy
