Bastard magnets have let go in the R100GS starter stator. Valeo, 9-tooth.

I plan to buy a new complete motor and later might overhaul this one using a new stator. It is probably ok, but I want a sure thing first.

Has anyone used a "HQ" type Valeo equivalent motor from Motobins, 50 quid cheaper than the Valeo item. ?

Ta,

Bin

Typically, two days before my pd was collected by its new owner my starter motor started squeaking so I bought one of the hq starters. They're made by a Dutch company (Rgl?) and to be honest I was impressed with the quality. The aluminium housing is much better quality than the valeo and is on par with the Nippon denso. Obviously I've no idea how they last but on looks alone they'll outdo a valeo.

Thanks for info, Rob.
Ordered one "HQ" type, Motobins 118quid v. Arrowhead from Motorworks 156quid.
Hard to decide, but both say they have sold plenty of their respective type and there is a 12 month guarantee.

Nice one my starter Motor is not engaging it just spins ,looks like I may have to have a look at the hq too
