Brake failure, lighting up in red on the right hand side of the dash. Switching off bike and restarting would clear it only for it to re-appear randomly then becoming more and more often. Giving the abs motor housing a tap with a piece of wood would also clear it for a while. Plugging in gs911 would show something like power supply failure to abs pump.
This led me to believe that the common problem of the brushes sticking was occurring.
Bought a second hand unit but had read about the unit needing re-coding to keep the bike's computer happy, so that's why I thought I'd swap the module off my unit onto the replacement.
Obviously if it's the module rather than the motor that's faulty then you'll still have the problem.
IIRC,
Steve at motoscot was repairing the later abs system at one point,
I think he has sold the Luton based business, maybe the new owner has continued to do the repairs.
Maybe the new/used motor had the same problem or the problem was on the electronic part of your old one?
Good to hear the trick with the fuel strip worked though
