Fork gaiters on my R65GS mono have split and perished and I need to change them.
Before I dismantle the forks to do this, is it possible to drop the fork legs out from the yokes and change them that way without a dismantle?

you are going to hve to remove the fork caps to release the front indicator brackets and also to that the stanchion will pass thru to the top and bottom yoke, assuming you have a standard OEM set up that is.

You can just undo the cap head in the bottom of the slider. The slider will then just drop off without the need to take the leg out of the fork.

You'll need to drain the oil first of course.

Or you can do it the way Rob says!

Unless the damper rod starts spinning with the bolt maybe, in which case plan A above.

Thank you both for the replies, I'll try plan B first and hope the rods stay put.

Plan B worked, job was a lot easier than I imagined and took well under an hour.
Thank you both for your input.
