Can anyone advise , i need to change the filter cap on my GS1150 (2001) how hard is it to swap the barrel on the petrol cap so that all keys are still the same ?
i've done a few searches but can't find any thing to suggest it can be done .
Cheers

Motorworks sell a kit to put the barrel into the filler cap to match your existing key.

I can't imagine it'd be a really hard job.

I spoke to them today , its them i bought the cap off . The kit they sell is for the panniers unless it does the fuel cap as well ????? i will wait till i get the cap and have a look , just hopeing someone has done it before .
Might do my panniers first for practise :D

I replaced the fuel cap on my bike shortly after I bought the bike.. the old one had 'bubbled' quite badly. It was a fair few years ago - but from memory I undid the 3 screws that are on the underside of the cap and it was a straightforward swap.. I bought a virtually mint one from Motorworks.. whole task took minutes. I don't remember it as being difficult at all.

edit - on further thought. Once you remove those 3 screws the back of the cap comes off.. the lock barrel itself is held in by a a metal lug that you push in... and out it pops.
