If you have this happen...

....you'll need one of these:

..or a new switch cluster priced £137.01

So, loosen handguard and rotate out of the way, undo 2 x T10 screws:

You have to apply the front brake to get enough room to get the cover off.

Stare at result.....realise you don't have any Torx bits small enough for those 2 screws.....you're not sure if they should be undone next...and that the big silver one seems a bit stiff.....and you really have no idea what you're doing...and you need your bike tomorrow.

Admit temporary defeat, reassemble and lock garage.

So then, with a call for help to wilbjr21 and Snoopy we have the tools and the knowledge to complete the task:

Connectors with awkward retaining clips on the side you can't see, disconnected revealing 2 more torx screws underneath..

Quickly undone and off comes "multi-function switch":

3 screws (T7) undone and it still won't come apart - removed kill-switch...

Still not budging.. Rang Snoopy "See that silver sticker...."

"....peel it off...." Another screw underneath

...and the thing falls apart...

would it not be an idea to fix the circlip in place with a dab of superglue or araldite, seeing at thats probablly how you lost it in the first place

No luck with the breakers yet. £170 for a new switch cluster.
