Replacing the throttle bodies on the 1100gs is it an easy job?

It's on a 1100gs 1997 model with the more modern cable set up on the throttle i.e. just one cable on each throttle body, the bike has done around 52k.

I'm thinking of replacing the throttle housings/bodies due to the normal wear on the shafts... the R/H one now has a ticker stopper fitted from Motorworks and I'm not sure if I like it, one of the problems with the ticker is I can now hear the left one just starting to tap away.
Plus balancing them is getting harder due to the wear allowing air to get sucked in so it’s not ideal.
Is it a straight forward job to replace them or am I better letting Neil at gsshop or RGM in Preston do the job? What’s the general consensus on doing the job at home?

Dont buy a ticker killer they are a complete waste of money dont work and just makes everything more difficult to ballence. Ive recently stipped mine and fitted some fiber washers to take the play out of the shaft which has eliminated th ticking sound completly.

Easy but you will need to do a zero zero to set up the TPS in order to set the LH side properly, search IBMWR for details DAMHIK

You've no need to do that at all.
The body is set at the factory, you'll just need to set the TPS, which easy enough using a digital multimeter.

Simple straight swop replacement, just have two throttle body O rings, which you'll need to replace.

Thanks for the replies, I will start saving up to get the bodies replaced.

Sounds like a good idea, did you fit them behind the cable quadrant?
