Report on the TUC-M319 Handlebar Muffs

They may look odd but I would have given anything for them last Monday in the French Alps when the temperature dropped to minus 1 degree and it started snowing at 2600 metres.

Brrrrrrrrr my hands were so cold I couldn't even feel if my heated grips were on. Thought I was gonna get frostbite. we had ridden the first 3 days in summer gear with no issues, then all of a sudden the weather came down and caught us out...typical of mountains and Alps!

We did the 4 day French Alps 'RIDE' trip which you can download from the web straight into your Zumo.....absolutely BRILLIANT! It even has the coffee stops loaded!

Got back yesterday, the bike was Awesome (and loud) through the twisty alpine passes..very highly recommended.

2000 miles no issues..great bike! :thumby:

I'm the person on my GS in the picture that nippy normal uses to advertise the muffs. :thumb
You'd think he'd ask someone to review them who's used them for years and in extreme conditions :D

Picture is taken in minus 6 temperatures while riding to morocco through france on december 28th 2005.

I was the original seller of the muffs and guchos on ukgser back in 2004 .

They work like nothing else in cold weather. Enabling you to use thin gloves with heated grips all through winter. The gloves stay dry, so even when you've stopped for petrol your hands don't get wet when putting your gloves back on.

A small tip. Use a cable tie around the wing mirror stem where the muffs end, stops water running down the stem into the muff. ;)
Leave them slack, so you can push the bike around with your hands in them without being constricted in your movement. ;)
Plus handy for keeping a small point and shoot camera in while riding, so you can stop, whip out the camera, take a picture and ride off, or take pictures while you ride along without the camera hanging down loose.

Muffs and gaucho fitted with frost on the screen.

Same trip, northern spain Burgos, 4.30am and thick ice on the roads. With muffs and gaucho no discomfort at all.

The good thing about the new WC, is that you can ride with your hands in your pockets when it gets too cold.:P:D
