Hi Gents picked up my new 1150 adv yesterday rides great had a bit of prob with hids not coming on untill i flicked the ignition on again then noticed my rid has gone wrong pulled the fuse 3 and it cleared now when i start the bike nothing when i engage gear the rid just dims then comes back with no info on it ,tried to find the socket on the right side of the tank is it the one under the plastic cover when i disconnected that one the clock stayed on so not sure if thats the right one .
I am new to the 1150 scene after coming from the 1200 side of things any help would be appreciated:thumb

HID ballasts are notorious for temporarily buggering up the RID.

I don't think it's possible to reset the RID but you could try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. Pull the fuse for the HID's to see if your RID starts behaving again. If it does, you'll need to think about relocating your ballasts.

quick update I have put the battery on charge through optimate which i fitted when disconecting the battery and every thing seems to be working now its either battery went low from having a few goes at getting the hids to come on which means the battery on its way out or its reset its self when I have dissconected the battery either way its all workng I will keep an eye on battery.I have just swapped my realy nice gs1200 for this so I am happy its all working again ,I rode it back from Asbourne yesterday and fell in love with this bike the 1200 and the 1150 are so diffrent both good but the gs1200 is so aggresive and snappy in a good way, where the 1150 is so smooth and planted but i didnt notice that much difference in performance except a bit in acceleration but thats just my opion but the 1150 suits my riding style much better (maybe I am getting old)Sure I will be on again with somthing else to ask advice about.
thanks for your help :thumb2

Hi Gav, sorry to see you had problems with the bike.:( The same thing, with the RID, happened to me when I got the bike. Disconnecting the battery sorted it and never had a problem after that. Hope you dont have any more problems. The 1200GS is great, a lot easier to handle than the 1150adv :thumb2 ...
