I have a "no-name" webcam cant find the cd or driver or anything!
Does anyone recognise this webcam from the pic?
Does anyone have driver/software for this webcam?
Does anyone have any advice on my next move?

Any help much appreciated
(before i take a hammer to the bloody thing)

Probably works better with a picture!

Sorry guys, here's the pic

unplug reboot with a bit of luck the machine will see it, as generic device. or download skype it has some basic driver and functionality If not buy new one from tesco costs next to nowt and should work.

Are there absolutely no numbers on it, on its base or anywhere?

Nearly every device will have something, and very often it'll be a unique reference number (there's some international agreement thingy and protocols for it but I can't remember what its called and its not important enough to look up)

FWIW it looks like Logitech to me but then, so many do :)

see if you can find a number on it:thumb2

There's nowt on the actual device not even a logo. However there's a sticker at the usb end which has the letter A to E and the numbers 1 to 12. A, D, and 9 have been crossed with pen, i'm guessing this is some sort of quality control sticker.

At risk of throwing us all off the scent, i have a vague recollection of it being logitech and now its been mentioned its got me thinking?????????????

Yea, that looks like a Logitech to me too.

I suggest the numbers 1 to 12 may be months and the A to E letters some Time scale thingy to do with quality control stuff.

HTH .

sorted it!!
took the casing off, put me glasses on, wrote down the chip number, googled it, downloaded driver, bish bash bosh- works!!
Thanks for your time guys

it works with a generic sonix driver (as used by logitech)
