Can anyone help with the exact measurements to centre hole on the starter motor casing? I'm fitting a jumper post to my 2002 1150 GS which I believe became a standard fitting on later Adventure GS's.
I have got the fitment instructions off the USA based ADV rider.com website but that retro fit was to an 1100Gs with a different starter motor cover (or so it would seem from the diagram).

I seem to recall they lined the starter cover with plasticine or blu tack and then offered it up to the bike, the bolt makes a mark and shows you where to drill the cover.

Thats what I did on my 1150 and it all worked out fine, but measure twice, drill once. I drilled a small pilot hole first and then checked it so I had room to correct if neccessary. (I did a couple of mm) Then open up to the required size.

Edit I know thats actually drilling twice

Personally i wouldn't bother faffing around - If you need to just clamp the live jump lead onto the starter terminal. :augie
