Hello,

I have bought a quick shifter off ebay and looking it fit to my R1200GS 2014

I am looking around for the wiring connection but cant easily see it? Does anyone know where the connection plug is?

Also i believe i need to take her to BMW for them to put the software on?

Thanks!

It is usually secured near the gear lever stub that comes out of the gearbox, SOME early Gs don’t have the wiring & cant be retrofitted, depends on the build date.
Yes you have to go to dealers to have the software installed, maybe ask dealer if your vin number can have Qs fitted, may save you time searching for wiring that isn’t there..
Marshall’s possibly.?

I bought mine and had the dealer retro fit it if I remember correctly it was around the £80 all in, including the programming.

I sent my VIN number off to a BMW and they said it should be good. They build date is jan 2014 so hopefully it will be there.

Is it a BM one or a Translogic ?

Translogic have 'authorised' fitters. I took mine to some bloke in Essex and they made a good job of it ...

If it is the BMW one it will need programmed by a dealer as it requires a factory generated activation code

For the BMW shifter the plug is on the back of the gearbox.
