Snoopy on the last DRZ ADV thread I posted buya Dakar... you did and you liked it

So listen once again...

I'm not going to give you the reasons why but take a little time to considere why one of these will suit your 'up for anything' attitude to life.

Snoops, there's a lot of people on here with a LOT of experiance gained by learning from their own mistakes (and successes) over the years.

Don't let it dint your 'have a go' approach but do make sure your 'research' includes their advice as it counts for a lot more than tech stats from marketing blurb on the internet.

Having ridden with The Dawg, I can tell you that it would be a toss-up who died first: The bike or Snoopy: Snoopy isn't your ever so gently set it up nicely in advance for the corner and smoothly waft through kind of guy. If the sounds coming from behind, from his DRZ, as we had a spirited ride through the Lakes are anything to go by, He's a last-minute braking, down three gears and bang it off the rev limiter kind of guy....and I don't fancy that scenario on airhead technology and brakes..

I had 2 R100GSs when they were current, so I've an inkling how they compare to current stuff.

By the same token, it can only be so long before a 400cc, 4 -stroke single woofs it's cookies...

Still got bits coming from U.S of A but taking shape. Hella DE's mounted and PDA bracket installed. :thumb2

Any reason why the spots are mounted above the bars and not below :nenau - I think I'd be worried that they would be the first thing to go if the bike takes a tumble...............

They are the only lights the front stock is being removed. If I have them down and under they either fowl the tank or loose a lot of the light on the sides. Large black spots. I'd prefer them lower as well but trying to figure something out.

Waiting for the 3000K 55W HID's to arrive. Let there be light!

You can ride in front, we'll just have to dodge your bouncing panniers...

They are 3000k not the puffy 6-8k types. :rob should give awesome yellow light without the blinding nature. Then again I could be wrong and fry your eyeballs.

Bouncing panniers might not get fitted depends if I can weld the 650 frame quickly enough. So much to do and so little time. Off to Greece Island hopping on Friday. :)

gor damn it i wish I could cut and paste where the heck is the petrol tank... and what's all that crap in design lab... don't look very scientific does it...:blast

I got me a white coat for my next series of tests:D
 
Here she is...

I'm really pleased with the front where everything work spot-on and the little niggles have been sorted. The red switch is for the HID. The PDA runs Garmin XT and has bluetooth / GPS built in. It also does the music. I've yet to build a splash screen for it.

The Alpos panniers make a welcome return from my 1150. I punished the last set so trust these will be upto the same job. They do look odd on the small bike.

There is a BMW socket and a Steibel horn on the left. The pannier brackets are self-made but are too flexible and I'm having to use lots of bungies to compensate. These will be replaced when I get back from my Scotland trip with some happy-trails brackets from the U.S
