Hi all,

I'm pretty sure I should go and look at my Haynes manual on this, but I'll ask here first anyway.

Rev needle on 1150gs adv jumps around a lot, this is at idle and when I hold speed steady. It's bloody annoying at slower speeds as I'm sure that the bike jumps around along with it :clap

It's starting to do my head in. I've just check the spark plugs, all nice and sand coloured at the top.

Any ideas / list of things to check ? The fuel filter was due for a change about ooooo ,some time ago. Could it be that?

Cheers fellas,

Brian

Is it just the rev needle or is the engine speed changing too ? If it is you have classic surging. Do a search on cat-code plug , this will sort you out .

It's also a sympton of the hall effect sensor being buggered.

Ill check them both out, but how can I test for the hall sensor (luckily I have one spare from a trip).

Cheers

Brian:clap
