Top marks to Revolutions Indian Dealer in Perth.

I had a bit of flakey paint on the edges of my mud guards (valanced fenders). I enquired about a warranty replacement, bike is 2 years old 15k miles. Revolutions took pics and wrote a report and put a case through to Indian to replace all the tin work. Indian agreed without complaint, collected the bike today with over £4k of new parts.

Indian covered parts and labour no quibble, Revolutions were quick to Sort the parts and get the job done.

Indian quality is normally very good, I have a 10 year old Chief with no paint issues. Revolutions and Indian stepped up and sorted it, top marks to both Indian and the newest dealer in theses parts, highly recommended if you are in the market for one in Scotland.

The bad news though, they also sell RE, CCM and Norton. I have no idea why but I left not only with my Roadmaster but a newly purchased RE Himalayan 🤷‍♂️ not sure how that happened😖

Hi Bob, ive been in Revolutions a few times and the guys seem totally genuine and friendly with a good variety of bikes, I only managed to buy an RE belt, so got off lightly:cool:
I do hope they manage to make a go of it.

Anything to do round there for the day ? Also anyone know if they do courtesy bikes ?
cheers Doc

Stunning roads around West Perthshire Doc. If you call in advance they might send you out on a Himmy, they did that for me when my Norton was in for its service.

I will have a look pal cheers.
Not showing on the website they do Indian Tom. I tried ringing but they are closed today.

Great thanks.

I believe Jim Allan’s is just a service centre they don’t sell Indian.

Revolutions do sell Indians but not sure how much of a demo fleet they have. I think the Challenger 112 they have is a demo bike and they may also have a Scout and Chief model demo too. They don’t have much in the way of the big tourers. Last time I was in they had a Roadmaster Elite and a Challenger 112 but quite a lot of the Chief and Scout models.

They have loads of Royal Enfields of all models and loads of Nortons.

If you like cars, they have lots of interesting Morgans and Caterhams to look at too.

It’s early days for them with the Indian stuff and to be honest it’s probably the smallest area of the business at the moment, but they are apparently selling a lot of them.

Cheers. I will speak to Jim Allen first as i could meet up with TIJ650 whilst I'm up there.

Booked into Revolutions to tie in with the Kelso weekend. Sounded right enough on the phone.

Another shout out for Revolutions in Perth, these guys really do go above and beyond to look after you.

Those that were at Kelso no doubt heard the tale of woe with my Roadmaster.

I stopped en route at Revolutions to meet Doc who’s bike was in for tyres and a service, the plan being to ride down to Kelso together.

Got on the bike hit start and nothing but a click, tried a few times, battery voltage was all over the place and all sorts of warning lights lit up, then fuel pump stopped priming.

Asked the workshop if they could have a look, the guys dropped everything and got to work straight away, it was hooked up to digital wrench which showed no faults or error codes, fuses and relays checked, no power to starter motor so suspect selonoid that also tripped a relay hence no fuel pump etc.

So bike put on ramp pulled apart to access selonoid which was then confirmed as knackered, in fact it was just a mass of corrosion hence the failure.

So bike going nowhere as the part not in stock and needs ordered. The guys asked what my plan was told them was en route to Kelso for bike meet etc let’s see if we can sort you a bike to help you out they said. They then proceeded to register a brand new bike and set it up as a rental for the weekend for £100. So I got to Kelso on a new RE 650 Bear.

Luckily the bike broke down at the dealership. But I really doubt most dealerships especially BMW would have done the same, would probably be told workshop full and no ramp space for 8 weeks, sorry can’t help.

If it had happened at home it’s an easy fix really that I could do myself once I had the part, but being 130 miles away I had to leave it at the dealership. So RE was returned to them and bus and train home.

Will go back and collect when they get it sorted later in the week.

Can’t fault them for customer service.

Which Himmy did you come out with, Bob?

That's got to be the jammiest outcome to a breakdown that I've ever heard.

BMW in France dropped everything to rescue me and my bike a few years back. I was rescued, taken to a BMW workshop, repaired and back on the road in just less than 5 hours. I did pay for the part but this money was refunded back into my account a few weeks later. BMW workshops sometimes do get bad press but the French lads could not have been more helpful.

Agreed great service to try help Bob out and a nice bill for service and tyres fitted £518 quid for me.
