Hi there,

I'[ve just returned to teh fold with a 1150 Rockster I picked up yesterday.
It appears the right hand grip heater is not working.
HAs anyone got a repair manual or diagram that shows the wiring for the grips please?

It's the throttle one so the wiring gets a lot of flexing. Take the bar end weight off and have a look to see if a wire hasn't broken off at the end.

If it has you may be able to repair in situe if you have enought wire to reattach.

Is heater inside handlebar then?
Why would it flex if it's not attached to rubber grip?

The heater element is under the rubber grip and rotates as you twist the throttle this movement causes the wires from the grip which pass through the centre of the centre of the bars to flex and break

How many miles has it done? The grips go through a connector under the tank. Just check for continuity through each grip circuit from there to ensure it's the grip at fault. Almost certainty is though. They're cheap enough secondhand and simple to change.

Thank guys, you're bang on the money.
The wire had broken under the grip.

Would this make the left one less hot?
I didn't think that one was very hot either.

Left grip is often less hot because the handle bar sucks heat away. The throttle slide gives better insulation from the cold bar.

Be careful how you fix the wires. Solder in the wrong place can create a bending point where the wires just snap off again.

2nd hand grip procured from Ebay.
There was no wire left to solder onto.
