RID display has fused it seems

My whole RID display has died on me (03 1150).

Im hoping it's a fuse. I dont suppose anyone would know what fuse I should be looking at changing? I have inspected them all and they all seem fine

Bet you've got HIDs.

There's a multi connector under the front edge of the tank, pull the tank back a little and you'll see it. Unplug it, leave it for a few seconds, then plug it back in. It'll probably be fine then.

Seems to be caused by HIDs trying to spark up when the voltage is low. Causes some kind of interference that crashes the RID.

Or have you just filled it to the top with fuel??

Fuse 3. And check your power socket is not shorting out.

Yes - I do have HIDs so that could be a useful starting point.

Never got round to doing anything about this as I rarely ride the bike. However, bizarrely today it's started working again

Is it when you turn lights on?
There is a plug under tank rhs the block as looking fwd on bike on the bottom i think try cleaning? If it dies completely with nothing I would suggest poor connection. If partial could be hid. Move the ballast if nearby or open circuit on the fuel level sender can also knock it out if there is too much resistance.

update

Spent 2 hrs yesterday working at it and no joy.


Checked fuses and unplugged and cleaned all the connectors at front of tank but still nothing.

Any ideas??

How did he fix it??

Circuit board was toast

Replaced RID

All you need to do is remove it and look at the bottom of the RID circuit board

You may be lucky to be able to drill a couple of small holes as drains and pack it with vaseline at the lower end

Not yet. This is a total pain
