Anyone had a problem with the gear indicator on the RID, flicks between 0 and 1 not any higher.
Any advice please
TIA

Probable cause is water in the sender unit on the back of the gear box. It happens on one of my GS's, indicator just displays whatever it feels like displaying. A real pain in the arse to put right as it involves removing the paralever to get to the unit :(

Happened to me Colin - bike was under warranty and had no problem changing it - brother in law has an RT and had the same problem - again, changed without question. When will the manufacturers learn?????

RID

Same again. I had the same problem on a 1100GS few years ago.
BMW paid for the switch which cost peanuts and I had to fork out for the labour. Took about 4 hours I seem to recall!!:banghead:

MMMMM
Well at 7 years old and 50K not much chance of bm helping me out, worse thing was I actually cleaned the bike for the first time in 12 months, I should have known better.

Well if its a damp switch, roll on the summer!

I will not chance any more good deeds like fixing it!!!!!
Thanks
