Ride down to Bulgaria and back June 2016

Just seeing if anyone is up for a ride down to Bulgaria next year, will take around 3-4 days getting own there and stay around a week at my house (swimming pool,sauna and loads of beer) have a good ride around Bulgaria on some very twisty roads then back home.

Two options as below

Ride down and back (around 3000 miles) plus riding around BG

Or

Pack bikes on a transporter(£500 round trip each bike) and get a flight down and meet the bikes

sounds like a plan to me ! Ride down for me to ! the father in law lives near burgass so would have to swing by there to keep him sweet

I would be up for this I'm planning on taking most of the second half of 2016 off. Would ride the bike.
 
Sounds fab. Very interested and thanks for the offer, I'm hunting for a property abroad in the next year as semi retirement is not far away, was looking at Hungary Bulgaria
 
Gents will be in touch over the next week to see if any of you have any routes/places you would like to ride/see on the way down and back up? I have a couple of routes already which I use now.

Also have accommodation at Nessebar which is in between Varna and Bourgas.

I would be up for this, pretty flexible on dates and no preferences for a route, yet to visit the area and was going to ride back through Bulgaria/Romania etc last year from a ride to Greece, but got the ferry over to Italy instead. I will be retired by then (60) would prefer to ride than fly, time is on my side, I hope! :)
 
Long trip to Bulgaria

I really like the idea of this trip and travelling down with a group, so please count me in at this early stage. I will be retiring at the end of the summer and I am hoping to do some bucket list trips and would probably like to carry on to Istambul on the bike. Anyone fancy a few miles further?

Just a few personal thoughts, and a couple of items still on my own Bucket-List…

I’ll probably be retired next year, so time away shouldn’t be a problem. :JB
Unless absolutely necessary, I’m not keen on humungous boring miles on major highways.. to me, the journey is as much a part of the adventure as the destination. :tarka
I’d like to do Transfagarash again, unless Clarkson’s visit has spoiled it. :eh

I’d like to have a beer by the Black Sea. :beer:
I’d like to ride through/stay in Albania on the way down/back. :rocketwho

I’d be up for an extended ride to Istanbul, or wherever. :thumb2
I camp plenty in UK, but when abroad I prefer cheap hotels/hostals/B&B etc. It keeps the luggage down, and I do like a proper bed. :sleep
 
No dates set as yet due to others that may want to join in?
Yes will be cheap hotels that's the plan so far but early days yet.

Will send a PM to all that are interested plus an email to all so you can air your thoughts on what you want/try/do so we all can see and work a plan out.

Interested in this trip , have taken early retirement ( 61 ) , skied Bulgaria in 1990 & had an interesting day out in Sofia .
Will be great to go back & ride down with a small group of like minded bikers , please keep me informed.
