Arsey that Brush is way to clean but Kamala Harris brown hair works much better for that job...
Either way on november 4th the party starts...Revolution 2.0...
You better get you a GS because you will need it for the days after...![]()
Maybe for you but the GS 1250 is a better bike on B roads than the smaller ones and its not about weight as the GS carries it so well and is poised in its ability to carve any road up. I feel your pain in struggling to ride as age creeps up , i ride with with 2 chaps , 60 and 63 , they have no issues with the GS and they can ride , ride ..... maybe its a mind thing.
Where did you get the "struggling to ride" bit from? I'm also in my 60s and in my 60s I have done IAM on my gs, Off Road Skills on a gs, toured, both solo and with the lovely Mrs Saint and explored the roads around my new home, all on my gs. I don't struggle to ride. I simply want a lighter, more nimble bike than the gs for every day use. If you think a gs is a more nimble bike than a 790 Duke, I think you are wrong. The gs is a better all rounder and a better tourer. It is far superior off road. But the Duke is both lighter and more nimble.

He’s blinkered; you have to make allowances!![]()
No offence taken, quite the opposite, I agree with you totally, there are much better bikes than the GS for specific roles, the GS is more a jack of all trades but master of none. For us "old hands" the GS has been refined far beyond it's original scope simply to appease, and profit from, the Charlie & Ewan generation. When I was competing in serious off road events I wouldn't have dreamed of using a GS. That was the domain of KTM, Yamaha, Honda and even a CZ way back.
My days of riding my GS on anything more serious than hard based rocky/stony/gravel tracks are long gone, it takes too long for the aches and bruises to go away now.
I think the 790 Adventure is a riot, really good bike
Is a GS with 17" wheels etc not just the R1250 RS model??![]()
Of course the GS has gotten too big, heavy, costly for off road riding but how often and where do you actually ride off road except for unpaved roads that can be easily ridden on a GS ! A GS has become a more practical and comfortable sport-bike what sport-tourers used to be.That is why I say give us the XR version of the GS to make it perfect for the road and for the few people who actually take it on terrain where a 21" front wheel could have benefits like on some remote areas in south america or africa make a more off road oriented one.Even if on real bad roads with washboard surfaces a chain would be probably preferable because washboard is really hard on u-joints...
And no one says a 790/890 is lighter or more nimble but the whole bike is too small to be comfortable on trips.Has no wind protection,no bags,no centerstand,no Telelever,no driveshaft...to be taken seriously. It is a playtoy.THe engine needs at least 4500 to run smooth and to pick up power cleanly. You can't even compare these bikes.SAme with the 700 Tenere that reminds me of a XT500 with a parallel twin.30 years ago it would have been exiting but today I can only laugh about bikes like this unless you really ride off-road most of the time...The GS is a great bike.Almost perfect. All they can do from here on give the GS more top-end power as it already has a stronger mid-range than the 1290KTM and 1260Ducati,2 full size bags,a 17" XR version and a little less weight which will come at a price because lighter materials will cost more money. If BMW really wants to compete with the simpler/lighter 790/890 KTM or even more so 700 Tenere they could bring a simper/lighter 900/1100 boxer maybe oil/aircooled like the current one but same wet clutch like the LC boxers...That would be more real and unique to the brand than the current F750/850/900 with their chinese made engines...![]()
I just wished we declared the scam-demic being over to open the border to Mexico where you can ride without supervision...
Maybe one day you give it a try like I met a bunch of brits on beemers a couple years ago enjoying themselves on a trip where Nick Sanders drove the sweeper truck heading down to Tierra del Fuego...
I asked them if they were from Germany on their beemers with their big yellow plates where they pointed out they had been from England....They asked me if I had been in the Luftwaffe...
On a R 1400 GS of course...
Stick I hope the M1300GS will be the bike we really want...
But as it is I'm really happy with my 2019 GS-HP with sports suspension and black cast wheels and Akra-3 exhaust with inserts removed.Little 790/890 KTM's don't interest me at all as they are unpractical playtoys that lack power.A 790 ADV does not interest me either as it is not as good as a GS on road but where it might be better off road I don't ride. The S1000XR would be the only other bike I would consider but I like the 1250GS better because all the XR has over the GS is the top-end that honestly compared to a S1000RR feels pretty tame on the XR...while the TORQUE on the GS just feels great...It all relative...I just wished we declared the scam-demic being over to open the border to Mexico where you can ride without supervision...

I wished I could have joined them but as a wage-slave I did not have the time...2027 I hope will be my year...
On a R 1400 GS of course...
