Hi Allan, are you planning a morning only ride? A couple of us are meeting at Abergavenny about 9am on Saturday and planning to cover some parts of your route but then push on further north and make a day of it.
The route so far looks like; Abergavenny-Gilwern-Talybont on Usk-Upper Chapel-Garth-Abergwesyn-Devil's staircase-Tregaron- Nant y Moch Res and onto Barmouth and after that we'll make it up as we go along, interested? ;)

HHMMMMM!:mmmm Cheers Humvee
Thinking, as the wifeys away Thursday coming back Sat afternoon, will she make me bleed if I'm late back or will it cost me a new dress.:hug

Allan,

As discussed this afternoon I'll be at your house at 08.00 hrs.

I wasn't planning to go past the Upper Boat.

If anybody wants to join the run up to Abergavenny I sugest the petrol station at Nantgarw at 08.05hrs

Good ride out chaps, pity about the grey skies though. Sorry had to cut off early (how was the bridge in Barmouth) but the ride back was awesome:thumb2 Made it back to Cardiff in about two and half hours and I even had a quick cuppa by the Storey Arms. That road from Machynlleth to llanidloes was fanbloodytastic:bounce1 :bounce1 :bounce1 my front wheel and both some of the time, have never spent so much time in the air. I have now put it in the old memory bank as a MUST visit again when the sun is really out.:Motomartin :clap :clap
Allan:thumb2
Brother inlaw gave up waiting (he only waited outside the house for three hours, no stamina the youff of today) and went back too Brizzol:thedummy :blast If had told me I would of stayed to the end, but I may have missed that awesome road:bounce1 :bounce1

Grey skies, drizzle (lots of it!) and even a blocked road at Abergwesyn failed to put a dampener on the day-a great ride-thanks to all who made it :clap
Allan we did make it to Barmouth and even had a bag of chips on the seafront-time did run away with us a little though as we didn't leave Barmouth until 4.30  GPS was saying just over 3 hours to get home from there for me-still-the dog enjoyed my tea apparently:rolleyes:
10 out of 10 to Gerry for reminding me how great the B4518 past Staylittle and Llyn Clywedog towards Llanidloes is,it's been a while since I've been on that road,we had fantastic views over the lake this afternoon :clap
12 hours out of the house,340 miles on the clock, travelled on so many different types of road today from A roads to B roads every type of single track road, off road, gated roads, toll roads, the odd ford or two and even a wood paved bridge! Must do it again soon :thumb
