Ride out

Oh, and I can recommend these Karroo 2 knobblies. They impressed me with there grip levels today. Far more stable than TKC’s, IMHO:thumb. Mind you I had the traction control and ABS kick-in a few times.

Your comment is interesting, Brian. Yesterday's weather was an extreme road challenge for any tyre with LOADS of rain, leaves etc etc, I had no incidents whatsoever with the TKC80's, not even one little slip, abs or asc moment, which really surpised me, because I am uneasy on knobblies in the wet.

You were, for sure, however, riding at a faster pace, so perhaps not a fair comparison. Interesting that one or two on road tyres reported occasional slides.:D

hi

thanks for a great day cheerd for the coffee rob.
looking forward to doing it in the snow again:augie
the picks look good so far look forward to seing the video clips:bounce1

Just testing the water (with out getting splashed !!!!!!!!!!!!)

If you boys want to come down to Somerset I could organise a ride out for you Down to Lynmouth via some nice roads and back across Exmoor etc. You will not be disappointed. Let me know if anyone is interested either this side of xmas or just after, and I will sort out a date. The meeting point could be Junction 25 M5 at B&Q car park just off the motorway. (Sainsbury petrol station is on the same industrail estate)

All riding abilities welcome

Just thought I would return the favour.

Rick

Good idea Ricky,

I'm up for it as I expect the others would be too:D

i'm sure there are some big puddles we could all splash in.:augie

It was my first time out on really wet and leafy roads on those tyres. So i was deliberately pushing them to see when they would let go, and having confidence and trust in the electronics intervening before I threw the bike through a hedge.:augie

I must say, the ABS and ASC is quite outstanding on the GSA.:bow

Count me in Ricky.:thumb2
I love those Exmoor roads and I’m sure you can show us some new ones.
It can sure get Ferkin cold up on them moors though.:eek

BTW. I should have the abridged version of the ride video up tomorrow.

It was you and your mate I passed on the motorway on the way home yesterday ?. Considering he only passed his test 2 weeks ago, then all credit to him for coming out in those conditions, I bet he learnt a lot about himself and the bike GOOD ON HIM !!

Good effort Rick, I'll certainly come along.

Might want to start up a new thread to discuss such an event :-)

It was just returning the favour, if anyone was following the thread then they will see it and come along. There is a run from Plymouth on Saturday (28/11) so I did not want to stand on anyones toes and spoil any other runs that people have organised and pinch people off their run. :beerjug:

Great vid!! Let me get this right, you were on knobblies, you were pressing on a bit at times , they must be good!

I crossed the bridge about fifteen minutes after you guys and I was struggling to keep left, the wind was ferocious.
I hope to make the next ride, Exmoor is good riding.:D :thumb2

It was us!!!:D

Yes Alex really enjoyed his 1st outing with a bunch of 'Tossers'

The trip south on the M5 was the worst part of the day, it made xing the severn bridge in the morning a doddle:eek:
