Rideout Route and Pics needed for RiDE Magazine

I should think that poor Emma regrets the day that she even asked us for help!

Oh and I can see both side of the car/bike discussions for on-road/off-road situation too!

I use both a 1200 GS and a Touareg for mostly on road use, so I'm cursed as both a biker and a 4X4 driver!

Personally, I have no problem with suggesting a few good roads to ride (excuse the pun) but I would urge caution as to how the readers might choose to ride the route recommended.

It only takes a few to spoil the attitude of the locals for the rest of us and driving like knobs will only build up resentment for the rest of us.

Generally, I find all types of people talk to you when you're on a motorcycle because people are genuinely interested in what you're about. Anything that spoils that further would be a great shame.

Well I think that’s scared Emma away now, you lot of heartless bikers you :)

Poor women, she only asked a question. Now she has this image that all GS riders are opinionated and hate everyone else. :mcgun

Well, seeing as how she posted it in the 'Wales' section she'll only think that of the Welsh bikers...

:hide

Shall I get my coat now?

Have sent several emails with info etc. to 'Ride' in the past....

I've yet to receive an acknowledgement to any of them, let alone a meaningful reply.... :spitfire

Wont be wasting the ink on my screen again.... :nono

I am talking from purely personal experience and despite this, I still subscribe to 'Ride' ... :mmmm

No doubt we'll be getting a slating in a future issue for telling it as some of us see it...

FWIW I also subscribe to RIDE and it does seem to have lost it's bite of late. Selling out to the establishment maybe??? :tosser

This thread has gone a bit quiet

Emma are you still there?

Do you hate us all now?

I, for one, would be interested in your opinion and if your up for the greenlane run in the spring :)

Cor, that were a good thread, weren't it!
Is it finished now?

I just can't believe the way several of you treated a new comer here, no matter what she does or who she works for !!

It's not the done thing, on her first post to flame her down ! The fact that UKGSer gets media attention can only be a good thing. It stops things from being stale.

I sincerely hope that some of you have complied with her request. To me it looks like she's not coming back. What's next .... flame people who ride a different bike than you ??? This isn't Advrider's JoMamma section....

I agree and, as you say, Emma has gone very quite so probably got p*ssed of with the comments and hasn't bothered to come back.

I didnt have any routes for her but I did invite her on a ride out. I intend to follow this up and send her an Email via her RiDE address just to prove some GS riders are friendly.

Let us know if you do get a reply Llama, as there have been a couple of us who have emailed our Emma directly and have had no reply whatsoever. :(

Valid point................. Except there are some of us who have actually written to her at RIDE BEFORE she took the time to post on here............. Does that count? :thumb

Not in my opinion. She went through the trouble of registering, and even responding to some of the issues thrown at her.

If you have had bad vibes with her, then you should just ignore, the same way you would if there's someone on the forum you don't like. Some obviously don't feel like you, and have stated that.

What this would turn into is JM at Advrider, where it happens all the time, so much that very serious riders actually go there.
