I have been looking at options for mounting my iPhone as it currently lives in a hein Gerieke Tuareg handlebar bag and i obviosly cannot see the screen.

I decided on the bike console mount from Ridermount which i ordered on Thursday night. I got a confirmation email for the order on Friday and the postman delivered it half an hour ago. Phone is in the case as I type this. I have tried it with my bike gloves and it still works but I know that my iPhone doesn't work with others, mine are Hein Gerieke kangaroo leather if it makes a difference. Normal apple cable to charge it up whilst riding until I buy something else.

Not been tried on the bike yet.

Full marks to Colin for an outstanding service. :beerjug:

How are you getting on with the RiderMount?
I'm thinking of getting one, so it would be useful to know if you're still using it.
Cheers,
Chas.

I use mine most times when out on the bike...

As I have recently upgraded to an iPhone4 from a 3, I need to get an insert off Ridermount (cbritton - member on UKGSer) to make this phone work...

Otherwise, it's a fabtastic bit of kit!

iPhone overheat.

Any experience of the iPhone overheating in the case? Some users have had a problem in full sun with the iPhone charging and navigating at the same time.

None for me whatsoever; last summer it saw use during trips (with static periods en-route) to/from Cambs/Edinburgh during Aug & Sept.

How did you get on with it fun rider.

Sorry, been away from the PC for a few days.

I've not been able to test it yet, due to snow etc, but hope to go out this Sunday, especially if it rains and washes away the salt :clap

However, I like the build quality and design. My standard Apple iPhone charging lead fits OK, the screen is clearly visible across the full size and the button at the bottom works well.

I've also bought a Scala Rider Solo, so I will test that at the same time.
One downside so far, the telephone works OK through the headset, but the music player and satnav app don't.
Is there anyway of 'forcing' where the sound from apps go?

Hi All,
A note here about using the bikeconsole with gloves. If you remove the lining on your iphone digit (touching leather) then it should work. Mine does.

Just noticed the questions on this.

The case has been fitted since May '11 and I've just replaced it with another since I managed to break the lid but that was my own fault.

There have been no over heating problems as some have experienced.

I have it mated to an Autocom via their Bluetooth dongle which has proved faultless no matter whether it is for the phone, music or sat nav. One thing with the music is to switch off the "shake to shuffle" mode or the songs change without warning.

This case allows easy use of the phone and is features without any hassle of digging out the phone or having to take off my gloves.

One complaint I read in a review was that the elastic/rubber band obscured the view of the screen:augie

I have used mine on a trip to Spain, worked really well a sensible replacement for my elderly Garmin.

The 2 sets of screws for the mounting plates have loosened and the mounting strap which should go under the phone not over has a fairly short life in full sun, but at least you get a spare one and a iPhone 4 silicone holder in the kit.

When using your iPhone, don't load the memory with stuff, I think that it works better witha least 1gb free memory.
