I received an e-mail from them yesterday about their Harley-Davidson open weekend and noticed on the bottom of the e-mail along with Harley-Davidson, Buell and Ducati it also listed BMW Motorrad

Presumably they are about to take over as the Bristol based dealer for all things two wheeled and BMW? :nenau

I heard that Martin Isles had resigned the BMW dealership in Bristol earlier this year so it makes sense to me that a big group like Riders would it take over. Maybe that's the reason why Riders Bristol offered me such a good deal over the phone for my RT in exchange for a new FXDWG? They've gotta get their quality stock of used Beemers from somewhere :augie

If that's correct, I hope they do take it on as Riders service is excellent. I part-ex'd my Softail Heritage for a GS Adv last autumn and Riders Cardiff gave a great trade-in because they said Riders Bridgewater would retail the Harley.

Having bought new bikes from both Riders Bristol and Cardiff, I can't fault their after sales service. They will pick-up and return your bike in their vans when a service is due which saves a lot of time, and the one warranty issue I had on the Harley was resolved very quickly.

Riders Bristol gave me a good PX deal on my S1000RR, when i bought my Diavel. Due to their Cardiff BMW shop.

In November, the Bristol BMW Motorrad franchise will be going to the Dick Lovett BMW car showroom at Cribbs Causeway.

If they integrate the Cars and Bikes like they have at Cotswold, it should be good.

Interesting ........ it makes me wonder why Dick Lovett BMW in Swindon have never shown any interest in taking on the Motorrad franchise? :nenau

Dick Lovett Group did have a brief and rather unsuccesful go at retailing Ducati under the Dick Lovett Sporting banner some years ago. IIRC it lasted about 12 months before they canned it :augie

I spoke to Riders Bristol yesterday and they have confirmed that the Motorrad dealer for the area will be Dick Lovett as of November this year

Maybe we'll now get a dealer in Swindon as well? tho somehow I doubt it :blast
