Yet again on the way to work this morning just after filling up at Esso after about 30 minutes 1200 Gs on an 06 plate started running like a tank extreme vibration and irratic idling upon closing throttle would idle at 2000 revs and then slowly return to normal . This evening was fine again it does this every now and again and it is starting to p' me off any ideas.... Please help ...:nenau

I had something similar happen on an 06 bike. I think one of the throttles was intermittantly sticking which explains the vibration due to big differences in fuel delivery to each cylinder. I also had the high tickover etc. etc. In my case it cured itself but while it was playing up I could feel some mechanical reluctance in the throttle movement. I do wonder if the stepper motors were to blame somehow.

Hope you get it sorted

almost certain to be either a sticking throttle body, syncro or an air leak between the throttle body and the engine. Could also be a sticky cable I guess. I cant think of anything else that would give a high tickover. Air leak is easy to diagnose, start bike and squirt wd40 round the joint and rubber. You will soon hear if its that. Vacuum gauges would tell you what side the problem is on but you would have to do that when the fault is there. Likewise taking the airbox to throttle body hose of when the fault is there would tell you if it is a sticky throttle/cable or not. Just a case of working through the above till you pin point the fault I am afraid. No idea if a fault reader would show a sticky syncro fault or not.

Just a thought, but do you normally fuel up at the same place? I once got a bad tankful and she ran like a dog, scraping in mid 30s to the gallon and sounding like an Ural diesel. May be worth changing your supplier (man).
