Whilst giving my GSA a well deserved clean today I couldn't help but notice on the inside of the right hand side of the fuel tank is a cut out that looks like it could take a shape like a water bottle. Either side of the cut out where two brass screw holes suggesting that these are used to tie what ever should be there in place.

Question is what's it for and is it an accessory or should I have one fitted as standards:nenau

Answer on a post card:D

Its for a carbon filter trap to help with emisions for the american market you can get a bottle from nippy normans to fit in the space for any extra fluids you might feel you need to carry !

Anyone who has topped up their oil using one will say, yes.

Anyone who has one but hasn't yet used it will say maybe, probably veering towards yes.

Anyone who thinks they are an overpriced ridiculous idea and that they leak, will say no.

All three answers are possibly correct. Take your pick.

Yes they are brill! I`ve already helped a fellow GS rider when he ran out and already helped myself in France.

The bottles are somewhat pricey but the latest ones from NN are very good - the earlier ones where dreadful.

You can buy a `fuel mixing bottle` from spear and Jackson for a fraction of the cost and it is just as good but, for sure, I aint knocking NN.
