Dear All (and Steptoe if your available),
I'm considering buying a high mileage 2003 1150GS Adventure. Current owner appears to have racked up the miles commuting from Frome to Southampton every day (50 each way I think) - 2000 miles/month. Currently nearly 63,000 but look very clean in the photos (Full lugguage incl.). Owner has changed all the oils recently but suspect may not have had a 60,000 dealer service. What's the risk, what's it worth (ad for under £4K) and could it be due for any big bills soon? Planning to look at it this morning (tbc). I'm prepared to do some basic servicing myself and go to some one like Steptoe (sorry, don't have his full name) for more complex/tech stuff.
Thanks for any advice

My 1150 has clocked up 61K recently and is running as good as ever,as are any number of "high mileage" BMs.The technology is comparable to cars and they last very well if serviced regularly.I tend to "road test" the owner as well as the bike when i go to view.Is the owner someone with a brain who understands these things or just an idiot who has abused the bike.
